Elon Musk Issues Warning About The Justice System

(StraightNews.org) — Twitter owner Elon Musk says the Department of Justice (DOJ) is targeting Donald Trump and will lose public trust as a result. The DOJ indicted former President Trump on charges related to the classified documents found during an FBI raid on his home in Florida in 2022.

On Twitter, Musk wrote, “There does seem to be far higher interest in pursuing Trump compared to other people in politics. Very important that the justice system rebut what appears to be differential enforcement or they will lose public trust.”

Trump noted on his Truth Social account that classified documents were also found at locations associated with President Biden, including his former offices and his garage at home in Delaware, yet the DOJ or FBI took no action.

The Department of Justice charged Trump on 37 criminal counts following an investigation led by Special Counsel Jack Smith on the orders of Attorney General Merrick Garland. The former President is alleged to have kept highly sensitive materials and allowed others to read them. These include details on American nuclear programs, specifics on US retaliation in the event of an attack, and the military vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies.

One of Trump’s lawyers, Alina Habba, said she is outraged by the persecution of her client. She accused the DOJ of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome” and said it completely ignores any wrongdoing by President Biden and his family.

The latest legal battle to face Trump has prompted some of his enemies and allies to clarify their views of the embattled President. Long-time critic Mitt Romney issued a statement on Twitter saying Trump had brought this on himself.

Donald Trump also faces a second criminal trial in New York on charges related to hush money payments to an adult actress who claims she had an affair with him. He has maintained his innocence on both indictments and said he is the subject of a witch hunt.
