Pop Idol Found DEAD In Apartment – Circumstances Unknown
(StraightNews.org) – In 2001, singer Darius Campbell Danesh jammed out to his own rendition of Brittney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” while competing on the British reality show Popstars. While he didn’t win the competition, his passion and voice catapulted him to fame when he released his single Colourblind in the summer of 2002. His life was cut short last week, and no one yet knows why.
On Thursday, August 11, someone found Danesh dead in his Rochester, Minnesota, apartment. His family announced the tragedy while the police declared there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Many people shared tributes to the fallen singer online, including the Popstar judge Nicki Chapman.
There will only ever be one Darius Campbell Danesh.
A true gent with a kind soul & mischievous tinkle in his eye. From that eventful first audition on Popstars to him kindly inviting me to see him perform on the West End stage

While medical examiners work to uncover the reason for his death, many fans have speculated whether there were medical conditions at play. His Michigan apartment was very close to a Mayo Clinic treatment center known for catering to famous people like Muhammad Ali and Johnny Cash. The beloved singer had not disclosed any ongoing medical issues, although he did have two near-death experiences in recent years. The first was a car accident in Spain, and the second was a meningitis-induced coma after he drank water from the Thames river.
The final public photo of Danesh was taken in June in Malibu, Florida when he was beach-bound with actor Gerard Butler. He had been staying out of the spotlight in recent months after wrapping up some final performances. Now, the family must wait up to two months before learning the cause of his death.
