Netflix’s BIGGEST Series Is Coming Back For Round 2
(StraightNews.org) – In 2021, the hit TV show “Squid Game” took Netflix by storm and ended up being the most popular series the streaming service had ever shown with 1.65 billion hours of views in its first four weeks. Now, fans of the South Korean drama are ramping up for Season Two.
On Sunday, June 12, Netflix announced that it renewed Squid Game for a second season. The first captivated viewers as it followed a broke and desperate man hoping to win easy money in a game show. However, the competition quickly turned treacherous, creating the high-stakes drama which made the intense show enthralling for its audience.

Hwang Dong-hyuk, who created the hit TV series, published a short blog post with a few teasers about the second season. While Season One did kill off a few fan favorites, it seems there will be at least some well-loved personas returning for another round. Gi-hun, the main character returns as does The Front Man. Hwang, who also directed and produced the first season teased at other possible returning characters as well as some new ones.
If Hwang can write just as enticing a script for this next season as he did the first, it might break records all over again. Will you be watching?
