Country Music Superstar Facing 3 Felony Charges

(StraightNews.org) – Country music star Morgan Wallen was charged with three felony counts following an arrest at a bar in Nashville. Police detained the singer at Chief’s bar in the Tennessee city after he tossed a chair off the roof. Staff members told local media that Wallen hurled the chair from a height of six stories and provided CCTV footage to police.

Officers subsequently charged Mr. Wallen with three counts of reckless endangerment and one of disorderly conduct. He posted a $15,250 bond and left Davidson County Jail hours later. The singer, who has several concerts lined up in the Volunteer State, will appear in court in early May. His attorney, Worrick Robinson, said his client is fully cooperating with law enforcement.

It is not Morgan Wallen’s first brush with the law. In 2020, he apologized following an arrest on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges. Court records showed he paid a $500 bond after being thrown out of an Honkytonk Bar in Nashville owned by Kid Rock. Upon his release, he took to Twitter to say he was “horse playing” with friends after visiting several bars and meant no harm.

The country singer shot to fame a decade ago after appearing on NBC’s The Voice in 2014. With the label Big Loud Records, he released his debut single two years later and an album, “If I Know Me,” in 2018.

He ran into trouble during the pandemic, and an appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) was canceled after videos emerged showing him partying with fans in Alabama without masks or social distancing. Two months later, however, SNL producers had a change of heart and welcomed Wallen as a musical guest.

The Tennessee native released his second album in January 2021, and a month later, his record label dropped him when he was filmed drunk and shouting a racial slur at a bar. By July of that year, he had checked himself into a rehab facility.
