RFK Jr. Considering Star NFL Quarterback as VP Pick

(StraightNews.org) – New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is on the shortlist to become Robert F. Kennedy’s running mate. Mr. Kennedy, who is running as an Independent after leaving the Democrats, confirmed to the New York Times that Mr. Rodgers and former WWF wrestler and Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura are the top contenders. He has been in discussions with Rodgers for at least a month.

The 40-year-old former Green Bay Packers Super Bowl champion strongly supports Kennedy’s White House bid and has mentioned him in several recent interviews. However, Rodgers is still tied to an NFL contract with the Jets until 2025. The team has not commented on the possibility of a Rodgers VP run.

Mr. Rodgers hit the headlines in 2021 when he refused to play against the Kansas City Chiefs due to coronavirus protocols. During an interview in November of that year, the football star said he had not taken the coronavirus vaccine because he believed the risk was higher than contracting the virus. He added that he is allergic to some of the vaccine’s contents and that he would not succumb to “woke” culture because he “marches to the beat of his own drum.”

Opposition to many vaccines and the drug industry more broadly is central to Mr. Kennedy’s politics, and he has described the covid vaccine as the deadliest ever produced.

Mr. Kennedy, the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, says that his primary political philosophy is that all Americans who work hard should be able to afford a decent life. He believes the American dream, particularly home ownership, is slipping away and promises a tax-free 3% government-backed bond to decrease interest rates. Kennedy says major corporations are buying up real estate and driving prices up to levels that most Americans can’t afford, and he will reverse that.

Regarding the border crisis, Kennedy said he would secure the American southern border using technology dismantled by the Biden administration. “All we need is the will,” he said.
